Reaching Karauli Shankar Mahadev Dhaam:

A Journey of Faith and Curiosity

Before I describe the route and means to reach the sacred Karauli Shankar Mahadev Dhaam, I feel compelled to share what drew me toward this journey in the first place.

One fine day, I stumbled upon a YouTube video that left me both intrigued and unsettled. The video showcased individuals who were seemingly not in a sound mental state—speaking and behaving as though another entity had taken over. These individuals were brought before Babaji, the spiritual head of the Dhaam. What followed was astonishing: the person would begin to speak in a completely different voice and personality, as though someone else was communicating through them. After a spiritual interaction and treatment at the Dhaam, these individuals were later interviewed again—completely healed and back to their normal selves.

This phenomenon led me to question the nature of consciousness, healing, and what truly happens in such mystical places. That’s when I came across the concept of Smriti Vigyaan—a discipline rooted in ancient Indian spiritual science, believed to deal with memory, subconscious imprints, and karmic energies. To explore and understand this deeper, I began my journey to Karauli Dhaam.

How to Reach Karauli Dhaam

Karauli Dhaam gets its name from the village Karauli, located approximately 17 km from Kanpur Central Railway Station, in the heart of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Kanpur itself is a city of rich historical relevance and an important hub of industrial development, situated on the banks of the holy river Ganga.

By Train:

Kanpur Central is a major railway junction, well-connected to almost every part of the country. When I searched for trains from my city, Hyderabad, I found that direct trains to Kanpur often run full due to high demand. However, I discovered that most of these routes pass through Veerangana Jhansi Laxmibai Junction—a station with better connectivity and fewer reservations issues. Jhansi also holds great historical significance and serves as a convenient transit point.

From Jhansi, you have two main options:

  • By Local Train: Local trains run regularly between Jhansi and Kanpur, taking about 4 hours.
  • By Bus: State-run buses are also available and take approximately 8 hours to reach Kanpur.

Within Kanpur:

Once you reach Kanpur Central, head to Rama Devi Chauraha—a prominent and well-connected junction about 5 km from the station. You can get there via auto-rickshaws or app-based cabs.

From Rama Devi:

  • Shared tempos and autos frequently ply to Karauli village.
  • If shared transport is unavailable, you can hire a private auto (it may cost more but is more convenient).

⚠️ Note: Since Karauli is a village on the outskirts, public transportation becomes sparse after 6 PM. It’s advisable to travel during the morning or early afternoon hours.

Staying at the Dhaam

As you enter Karauli village, you’ll be greeted by the Luv-Kush Ashram—the spiritual center and main destination. For devotees and travelers coming from afar, the ashram offers:

  • Paid rooms with basic amenities
  • A large community hall named Kamakhya Hall for minimal-cost group stays

KARAULI SHANKAR MAHADEV DHAAM

As the writer of this post, I want to begin by asking you a question. Have you ever seen people being cured of cancer or recovering from conditions like autism? What about diseases such as Ankylosing Spondylitis, arthritis, or other ailments that are currently deemed incurable by modern medicine?

The answer for most would likely be no, and I understand that. However, I have witnessed things that are truly beyond explanation. I have seen transformations that can only be described as miraculous, where healing happens in ways that defy conventional medical understanding.

Naturally, questions arise: How is this possible? What evidence is there to prove that such healing occurs? While skepticism is understandable, my own experiences and understanding have given me the certainty that it is possible, without a shadow of doubt. There is no room for doubt when you witness such miracles firsthand.

This profound healing is made possible through the revival of the lost Vedic prakriya, a sacred process that had been forgotten but is now being reintroduced by great spiritual masters and seers. These enlightened beings have taken it upon themselves to bring back this ancient wisdom and its powerful natural healing methods, all under the divine grace of Lord Mahadeva and Maa Kamakhya.

The Journey Begins

Let us now begin our journey to understand this miraculous combination of space and time, unfolding in the current age of Kaliyuga. Our first stop is in the town of Kanpur, India, where just seventeen kilometers away lies the small village of Karauli. Here, a sacred ashram, known as Luv Kush Ashram, stands as a beacon of divine grace.

At this ashram, the presence of Lord Mahadeva and Maa Kamakhya has become more accessible, under the guidance of a great master whom we lovingly call Revered Babaji.

The temple within the ashram is vibrant with energy, and its divine presence is unmistakable. The temple is not merely a place of worship but an active source of healing, exuding divinity in every corner. The integrated form of Lord Mahadev, and Maa Kamakhya has been established here in a unique way, now known as “Karauli Shankar Mahadev Dham“.

The Divine Union at Karauli Dham

In Karauli Dham, the divine energies of Lord Shiva and Maa Kamakhya come together, creating a potent space where miracles and healing take place. This integrated form, known as Karauli Dham, symbolizes the eternal presence of both deities, existing together in unity. Here, Lord Shiva and Maa Kamakhya are not worshipped separately but as a unified divine force that constantly blesses the space with their grace.

The energy at Karauli Dham is unlike anything else. It is a space where one can feel the tangible presence of divinity, and countless people have experienced deep healing, both physically and spiritually, within its embrace. This is a place where the ancient wisdom and grace of the Vedic tradition come alive, creating an environment conducive to transformation.

More Than a Place — A Living Power

Karauli Dham is not just a geographical location or a spiritual destination. It is a living force of divinity and healing. The ancient Vedic knowledge being revived here is not theoretical but deeply practical. It touches lives, heals illnesses, and awakens consciousness in ways that no modern system has yet been able to replicate.

In the upcoming parts of this series, I will share more about the specific practices being followed, the incredible stories of those who have been healed, and the deeper meanings behind the temple’s unique divine setup. This is a sacred path that has opened up in our present time, and it invites anyone with sincerity to walk it.

This is just the beginning of our exploration. May this journey bring you closer to truth, healing, and the divine grace that is unfolding quietly yet powerfully in Karauli Dham.
